Loosely Coupled the webinar

Doug Kaye and I did a joint webinar yesterday around his book. It was a lot of fun to do a joint webinar as having someone to interact with helps to make up for the lack of a physical audience - I hope the audience enjoyed it too. The slides are here, and they reference Doug's book which I highly recommend.

Sean McGrath-the future of EAI and SOA

Sean had a post I originally missed but I am glad I managed to see it.The future of EAI...... where he discusses some of the fundamental issues we have with architecture. In his presentation he lays out one problem that I feel is overlooked in SOA design - where does the data live. We are too focused on creating silos and loading them up with all the data we will ever need and hiding the data behind objects we never stop to ask why are we keeping this data at all. For SOA's to take off we need to address the fundamentals of how to build well distributed services - something Sean is starting to address.
